Well, i have read yor blog, and its fantastic that Arashi has fans around the world. In fact, I write this comment because I was very surprised when I read that Nino played a role in Letters from Iwo Jima. I have heard that before, but *please, dnt lough* I thought it was a joke... Recently, I read an spanish (yes,im from that country) review about Letters, and the journalist that wrote the essay said that he likes nino a lot. So, i would like to share that information with all Arashi fans. Ill try to translate it as well as I can ^^. here it is:
"and then appears the big film surprise:Kazunari Ninomiya. when I found out that he was a famouse Japanese singer I was afraid , I thought his performance would not measured up to the film. But that was not the fact.
ninmoyiya's performance raises his character's quality thanks to the magnificent screenplay. All his looks, expressions and faces stand out the character's personality. the Ninomiya's performance has become a very pleaant surprise."
"Ninomiya offers to us one of the last years' best cinematographic performance.
He has an style very different of the typical japanese one (overly dramatic, and theatrical). Ninomiya's performance is incredibly natural and deep, and in the last minutes of the film he plays one of the best dramatic moments in the last years".
" Kazunari Ninomiya, who has earned some Oscar buzz with his turn as a baker-turned-solider in Clint Eastwood's "Letters From Iwo Jima," is a Johnny's talent as well. Firm has not said what it will do if he scores an Academy Award nomination."

"NOTE: If I were to go outside these nominees, I would give the statue (Best Supporting Actor) to Kazunari Ninomiya for Letters from Iwo Jima."

"Ninomiya also has enough heart-twisting moments to declare a place amongst the supporting actor regiment, should the snowball continue to build."

"...a puppy-faced former baker named Saigo (Kazunari Ninomiya, in a thoroughly winning performance), writes philosophically: "This is the hole that we will fight and die in."
